Washington Free Public Library Foundation
is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to financial assistance, innovative leadership, and advocacy to enhance and support the services and programs of Washington Free Public Library.
Are you interested in supporting the Foundation?
We appreciate our communty's past support of the Washington Free Public Library and hope you'll consider making a contribution to the Foundation. The Foundation has been in place since 1998 and is dedicated to taking library services beyond what our tax dollars can provide.
Some of the projects the Foundation has supported include:
- 1000 Books Before Kindergarten
- Renovation of children's book shelving
- Art collection acquisition and framing
- Addition of several digital services: Kanopy, Mango Languages, Biblioboard and Beanstack
- Additional ebooks and eaudiobooks from Bridges
- Library Concert Series
- Special events such as Fiber Arts February, AuthorFest and our Summer Reading Challenge
And the newest project: The MakeIT Place-- opening in 2024
For your convenience, donations are accepted in several ways:
** Donate online through the Foundation's Give Butter online fundraising page
** Donate online to the Foundation's endowment with the Community Foundation of Washington County (hosted by the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation)
** Mail a check (made out to Washington Free Public Library FOUNDATION) to 115 W. Washington St, Washington, IA 52353
